Honey Glazed Shoulder of Pork


Pork can make a wonderful meal for your family or dinner party. In this recipe stout, honey and dark brown sugar make a heavenly glaze.

1.5kg shoulder of pork
375ml milk stout or apple cider
½ cup honey
250g dark brown sugar
3 stalks rosemary
1kg new potatoes
600g baby carrots

Preheat the oven to 200C.
Place the stout, honey and sugar in a saucepan and reduce the liquid by half. Allow to cool.
Roast the pork on high for 20 minutes. Reduce the oven to 180C.
Place the rosemary on the bottom of the roasting pan. Brush the pork with the glaze and cook for 45 minutes. Add the vegetables and cook for another hour.
