New Year's Menu Ideas

Last night we hosted a small dinner party for a few close friends. This is my menu.

Sushi Sandwiches
Mini Quiches with bacon and cheddar

Roast beef with herbed butter
Potato bake made using sliced potatoes and a cheese sauce, baked at the same temperature as the meat until the potatoes are soft
Green beans and mushrooms with sour cream
Roasted butternut and carrots baked with the meat at the bottom of the oven for 90 minutes

Apple and cinnamon cake with caramel topping, served with clotted cream

A good french champagne welcomed our guests and complimented the meal, and I served a Merlot with the beef.
