Easy Boys Ice-Cream Birthday Cake

Serving an ice-cream cake is perfect for summertime birthday parties. Why not try making your own.Using a double batch of the homemade ice-cream on my blog, pour the ice-cream into an oval oven dish that has been wiped over with a wet cloth. Freeze overnight. Remove from the freezer and use a palate knife to loosen the edges. Turn over and place on a large serving board covered with aluminium foil. Use a cloth soaked in hot water, and wipe over the under side of the dish. Place in the freezer for 1 hour. Remove from the freezer. Shape and decorate as desired.

I used flaked chocolate, coloured sprinkles and a black gel icing pen to make this cake for my four year old son.
